Tempting Recruitment are working alongside our client, a charity , who are looking to recruit an experienced supported housing manager to join their team based in the Lambeth area.
JOB DETAILS
- PAY RATE: £38,000 per annum. Full time equivalent.
- WORK TYPE: Fixed term contract until 31st March 2029
- WORK PATTERN: 28 or 35 hours per week on a rota basis (over 4 or 5 days, Monday to Friday, between 10.00 and 18.00 with some evenings and weekends, as required). Flexible working options considered.

JOB ROLE
Supported Housing Manager for a charity supporting LGBTQ+ young people struggling with homelessness or living in hostile environments.
JOB DESCRIPTIONThe duties and responsibilities of the role will include:
- Ensuring that Action and Risk Management Plans are comprehensive, up-to-date, involve the YP and key professionals fully and are recorded and reviewed in line with policy and procedure.
- Ensuring that regular support and keywork (both informal and formal) is taking place in line with agreed Action Plans.
- Ensuring the team and service operate effectively, that codes of professional conduct are adhered to, and that all staff maintain high quality standards of work practice including file audits and supervision.
- Retain overall responsibility for ensuring the service meets and exceeds Key Performance Indicators relating to support and housing management.
- Being the primary point of communication and day-to-day operational decisions with Metropolitan Thames Valley Housing Association and Lambeth Council regarding referrals and moving on from the scheme.
- Taking an active role in budget planning processes in conjunction with the Director of Services.
- Managing planned budgets effectively and ensure resources are maximized.
- Adhering to and ensuring staff adherence to financial procedures at all times.
- Ensuring that team members are committed to and fulfil their duties in safeguarding young people in line with policy and procedure and relevant legal requirements.
- Managing and supporting team members to co-produce person-centered, holistic, evidence-based risk management plans and welfare and safeguarding concerns as required.
- Ensuring the service works collaboratively with a range of agencies to maintain the highest standards of safeguarding with choice and co-production as core elements of this practice.
- To take pride in creating safe, welcoming, psychologically informed home environments for young people, ensuring that the safety and wellbeing of young people is at the centre of everything you do.
THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATEThe successful candidate will have the following skills and competencies:
Essential criteria
• Proven operational experience of effectively managing, developing and supporting a team within a housing or supported housing environment.
• Demonstrable understanding of Health and Safety legislation and experience of implementing and monitoring compliance with Health & Safety, HR and operational policies
• Ability to keep clear and up-to-date case records and proficient use of Microsoft Office 365 based applications.
• Experience of supervising staff who are working one-on-one with and assessing the needs of homeless people, residents to move on to long terms accommodation.
• Good communication, negotiation, influencing and advocacy skills with individuals and organisations.
• Proven experience of contract monitoring, managing performance returns, and overseeing service delivery.
• A demonstrable level of understanding of LGBTQ+ services and networks in London, housing and homelessness systems and the issues affecting LGBTQ+ young people who have experienced homelessness.
Desirable Criteria
• Qualification in Leadership and Management or relevant sector-specific qualification or working towards a relevant NVQ Level 5.
• Have relatable lived experience to the young people the charity support.
