JOB DESCRIPTION The duties and responsibilities of the role will include:
Manage end-to-end probate matters from initial instruction through to estate distribution, including complex and high-value estates.
Provide clear advice on estate administration, inheritance tax implications, and how to reduce liability.
Draft and advise on wills, including trusts and some tax planning.
Prepare and register Lasting Powers of Attorney.
Ensure full compliance with all regulatory and firm-wide risk and quality standards.
Supervise and support team members.
Assist in business development to grow the department.
THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE The successful candidate will have the following skills and competencies:
Qualified Solicitor, Legal Executive, or STEP-qualified Probate Practitioner.
Minimum 5 years’ PQE in private client work, specifically probate, wills, and LPAs.
Strong technical knowledge of estate administration and inheritance tax.
Commercially aware with an ability to identify business opportunities.
Excellent communication and client care skills.
Self-motivated with the ability to manage a varied caseload.
A proactive, team-oriented attitude with a desire to contribute to departmental growth.
