Are you eager to land a brand new role? Our client, a Public Sector based in West Yorkshire, are looking for an experienced Information Governance Officer to join their team and play a crucial role in their corporate information governance operations. 

Position: Information Governance Officer
Rate: £17 per hour (Umbrella) 
Contract Duration: Temp (Oct 2026) Possible Extension  
Working Arrangement: Hybrid

Purpose:

• To support the Corporate Information Governance Team to ensure the Council’s legislative compliance with the Information Commissioner and that the Council can evidence that compliance.

Job Responsibilities:

• To support, as part of the Corporate Information Governance Team, the Freedom of Information, Data Protection, Information Security and Records/Archives Management functions of the Council.
• To support the Information Governance Team to ensure the secure and efficient archiving of information.
• To support the Corporate Information Governance Team to deliver its key tasks and objectives.

Job Requirements:

• Previous experience working within a local authority or a similar organisation - preferred but not essential. 
• Technical knowledge and previous experience of work relating to Freedom of Information and Data Protection are essential, along with experince in the redaction of complex subject access requests. 
• It is essential that the applicant can demonstrate that they are competent in all aspects of communications, have good data analytical skills, have a strong customer focus, and the ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.  Team working skills are also essential for this role. 
• Evidence of Continuing Professional Development.
