Are you eager to land a brand new role? Our client, a Public Sector client based in Southeast London, are looking for an experienced HR Manager to join their team and play a crucial role in their policy review framework operations. 

Position: HR Manager (Policy & Projects)
Rate: £33.274 per hour (Umbrella) 
Contract Duration: Temp (Mar 2027) Possible Extension  
Working Arrangement: Hybrid

Purpose:

• The HR Manager will be the key advisor to Heads of Service and Assistant Directors or to Headteachers and Governing Bodies in schools. The role is part strategic and part operational. They will manage the work of the rest of the advisers, overseeing the allocation of case work, supervising advisors and ensuring that the Council’s people management targets are achieved at an operational level.

Job Responsibilities:

• Support the implementation of the Policy Review Framework to help recruit, develop, and retain a diverse, skilled and motivated workforce that delivers high-quality services. 
• Develop, review, and implement HR policies and procedures to align with legal requirements (including ERA 2025) and industry standards.
• Lead and deliver HR projects and policy reviews, ensuring effective stakeholder engagement and timely implementation.

Job Requirements:

• Previous experience working within a local authority or a similar organisation - preferred but not essential. 
• Fully CIPD qualified or equivalent experience. 
• Experience of working with management, employees and trades unions to achieve staffing related service delivery improvements.
• Evidence of Continuing Professional Development.
