Are you eager to land a brand new role? Our client, a Public Sector client based in Swindon, are looking for an experienced HR Advisor to join their team and play a crucial role in their enabling human resources operations. 

Position: HR Advisor
Rate: £27.67 per hour (Umbrella) 
Contract Duration: Temp (Sep 2027) Possible Extension  
Working Arrangement: Hybrid

Purpose:

• Reporting to the HR Operations Manager, this role will be responsible for implementing and embedding the council’s new sickness absence policy and programme of activity designed to improve organisational performance and capacity through a blended approach to absence prevention and a culture focused on colleague wellbeing, as part of the At our Best Strategy. 

Job Responsibilities:

• Train and coach HR colleagues, managers, and key stakeholders in the new sickness absence policy and guidance to build organisational capability. 
• Support managers identified as part of the sickness absence pilot project with a view to reducing absenteeism, managing complex short-term and long-term sick leave cases, and ensuring full compliance with employment law, HR policy, guidance, and procedures through the provision of expert knowledge and advice.
• Work with the Colleague Experience Partners to ensure delivery of an effective communication and engagement strategy to support implementation of the new policy and intervention activities with a view to achieving the desired cultural change.

Job Requirements:

• Previous experience working within a local authority or a similar organisation - preferred but not essential. 
• CIPD Intermediate/Level 5 Qualified or above, or equivalent experience.
• Knowledge of ACAS guidance and best practice in relation to sickness absence management.
• Evidence of Continuing Professional Development.
