Are you eager to land a brand new role? Our client, a busy Local Authority in Northwest London, are looking for an experienced IT Support Consultant to join their team and play a crucial role in their end user computing operations.       

Position: IT Support Consultant
Rate: £450 per day (Inside IR35)
Contract Duration: Temporary (Dec 2026) Possible Extension 
Working Arrangement: Hybrid

Purpose:

• Support and maintain the existing ICT infrastructure for Shared Technology Services, covering all four areas of end user computing, datacentre, data network and messaging & collaboration support, but with additional specialisation in one of the areas.

Job Responsibilities: 

• Administer and support Palo Alto GlobalProtect remote access infrastructure.
• Configure and troubleshoot GlobalProtect client deployments, authentication methods, certificates, and connectivity issues.
• Manage VPN profiles, policies, client settings, and endpoint compliance integration.
• Investigate and resolve VPN connectivity, performance, and authentication incidents.
• Work with Network and Security teams to implement secure remote access solutions.
• Support migration projects involving VPN, ZTNA, Prisma Access, and remote connectivity services.

Job Requirements:

• Strong experience supporting Palo Alto GlobalProtect VPN solutions.
• Strong understanding of networking fundamentals including DNS, TCP/IP, routing, and firewalls.
• Evidence of Continuing Professional Development.
