Are you eager to land a brand new role? Our client, a busy local authority in East London, are looking for an experienced Resident Engagement Officer to join their team and play a crucial role in their Housing Environment and Communities. 

Position: Resident Engagement Officer
Rate: £22.54 per hour (Umbrella, Inside IR35) 
Contract Duration: Temporary (Oct 2026) Possible Extension  
Working Arrangement: Hybrid 

Purpose:

• To deliver a responsive and dynamic resident engagement function across all of the Council’s social housing properties.

Job Responsibilities:

• To be responsible for scheduling and delivering on specific programmes and events including awareness-raising campaigns, consultation on specific policies and proposed changes to services, gathering feedback on the quality of services, and measuring residents’ satisfaction with housing services. 
• To work with tenants to support the formation and operation of Tenants and Residents Associations across the housing stock, assisting with terms of reference, arranging meetings, attending meetings where appropriate, and capturing actions and outcomes from these bodies.
• To work with tenants and residents to agree on special events, e.g. fun days on estates, to provide an opportunity for tenants and residents to come together and mee staff, contractors etc. in an informal setting.

Job Requirements:

• Previous experience working within a local authority or a similar organisation.
• Commitment to continuous personal development through obtaining relevant qualifications, e.g. from the Chartered Institute of Housing, and/or attending training and development events linked to the requirement of the role.
• Evidence of Continuing Professional Development.
