Job Role: Triage Coordination Officer
Temporary or Permanent: Temp
Possible End Date: 28/06/2026 (possible extension)
Number of Positions: 1 position
Location: Kensington  
Rate of Pay: £22.23p/h umbrella 

Key Responsibilities:

• To manage the assessment, investigation and verification of applications who would like to join the Housing Register under Part VI of the Housing Act 1996 and the Council’s Allocations Scheme on an allocated casework basis. 
• To assess, interview and determine homeless prevention and best housing outcomes for applicants who want to make an application under Part VII of the Housing Act (1996)
• Making enquiries with a resident’s GPs, support services, landlord(s), family members, friends to determine if a main duty may be owed.
• To provide a rapid, effective, and efficient response to enquiries at the front of house at the Town Hall, related to housing Advice specific.
• To deliver a customer friendly experience that supports the resolution of customers housing needs at first contact in the Housing Solutions Service.
• To coordinate all front-facing responsibilities such as Inbox, web forms, telephone calls, outreach surgeries and liaison with other key partners such as hospitals, probation, police and other housing departments.

Job Requirements:

• Previous experience working within a local authority or a similar organisation.
• At least 2 years experience within a Triage Coordination Officer or equivalent 
• Background in housing solutions or homelessness services in the public sector
• Ability to manage client queries, negotiate with landlords, and address eviction issues
• Good understanding of Central London housing issues and an understanding of access to social housing locally.
• Knowledge of relevant Lettings, Homelessness and Housing Act legislation including security of tenure and private tenants’ rights
