Are you eager to land a brand new role? Our client, a busy Local Authority in East London, are looking for an experienced Tenancy Sustainment Officer to join their team and play a crucial role within their Private Sector Housing operations.        

Position: Tenancy Sustainment Officer
Rate: £41.90 per hour (PAYE)
Contract Duration: Temporary (6 Months) with Possible Extension  

Job Purpose: 

• Maintain effective relationships between tenants, landlords, stakeholders including internal and external partners and other relevant Local Authorities.

Job Responsibilities: 

• As a front-line officer, carry out all duties connected with investigating allegations of harassment and/or illegal eviction of private sector tenants.
• To promote good working relationships with landlords, tenants and other stakeholders, and support private tenants and leaseholders. Where enforcement is considered necessary, you will be responsible for ensuring legal case files are prepared in accordance with legislation, policy and procedure.
• Respond to queries relating to tenancy relation matters including harassment and illegal evictions, offences under the Landlord and Tenant Act 1985, Accommodation Agencies Act 1977 and Deposit Protection Regulations.

Job Requirements:

• Previous experience working within a local authority or a similar organisation.
• At least 1 year experience within a Tenancy Sustainment Officer role or equivalent.
• Hold a professional qualification related to the themes of housing, tenancy and landlord law and/or tenancy support and sustainment.
• Evidence of Continuing Professional Development.
