Are you eager to land a brand new role? Our client, a busy Local Authority in East London, are looking for an experienced Principal Enforcement Officer to join their team and play a crucial role within their law and governance operations.        

Position: Principal Enforcement Officer
Rate: £45.66 per hour (Umbrella, Outside IR35)
Contract Duration: Temporary (6 Months) with Possible Extension  

Job Purpose: 

• The purpose of this role is to lead the newly created unlicensed team to ensure our private sector housing service and private rented property licensing schemes and to support the Service Manager in respect of development and operational management of teams.

Job Responsibilities: 

• You will be responsible for the operational management of the unlicensed team which comprises of the inspection of houses of multiple occupation (HMO) and the identification and regularisation of all of the private sector housing functions including the borough wide private rented licensing scheme, private sector housing functions in respect of standards including tenancy sustainment and our empty homes portfolio.
• You will support in the growth of the private sector housing offer ensuring properties are safe for occupation, landlords comply with legislation and that residents behave in accordance with civic pride. You will support in the driving local improvements by ensuring the most appropriate course of action is taken in respect of non-compliance.

Job Requirements:

• Previous experience working within a local authority or a similar organisation.
• At least 1 year experience within a Principal Enforcement Officer role or equivalent.
• Evidence of Continuing Professional Development.
