Are you eager to land a brand new role? Our client, a busy local authority in Southampton. Are looking for a Accounts Payable Officer to join their organisation.

Job Role: Accounts Payable Officer
Temporary or Permanent: Temp
Possible End Date: Until February 2026 (Temp to Perm in April 2026 potentially)
Location: Southampton
Office Based/Hybrid: 5 days in the office
Rate of Pay: £18 p/h umbrella inside IR35

Key Responsibilities:

• To process invoices ensuring timely and accurate payment of legitimate invoices.
• To process all residential, nursing, block and domiciliary payments as per agreed contracts including making direct payments and auto payments.
• Administration and operation of all aspects of client Monies service activity including the accurate completion of all DWP, Office of Public Guardian and Court of Protection documentation and liaison with Care Managers.
• Administration of relevant bank accounts in accordance with Council policies and practice.
• To provide information and advice to managers regarding supplier or client queries.
• To provide information and undertake tasks in relation to financial audits.

  Job Requirements:

• Have a minimum of two years’ relevant experience as a Accounts Payable Officer or equivalent.
• GCSE Maths and English Grade C or above or equivalent qualifications.
• Excellent level of IT literacy to be able to use self-service, digital user platforms and applications and MS Office.
• Keyboard skills to a minimum of RSA 2 or equivalent.
