Are you eager to land a brand new role? Our client, a busy local authority in Dunstable. Are looking for a Maintenance Team Leader to join their organisation.

Job Role: Maintenance Team Leader (Housing)
Temporary or Permanent: Temp
Possible End Date: 3 months (Possible Extension)
Location: Dunstable
Office Based/Hybrid: TBC
Driving Licence Required: TBC but likely
Vehicle Access Required: TBC
Rate of Pay: £25 p/h umbrella

Key Responsibilities:

• Responsible for customer experience (repairs appointments, IT systems, data etc) Management, administration, and supervision of contractors delivering inspection, risk assessment, renovation, maintenance and timely void turnarounds to council owned dwellings.
• Ensuring collaborative working with contractors to deliver an excellent customer journey.
• Actively implement systems and process change and manage a programme of activity to drive improvements that will result in efficient use of resources and excellent customer services.
• Identify and analyse defects affecting health, safety and condition of council-owned dwellings leading to managing cost effective works to time, quality and budget.
• You will manage, procure and supervise contractors to deliver inspection, risk assessment, renovation, servicing and maintenance to council owned property.
• Survey and inspect council owned property to diagnose repair defects and order effective remedial works. Prepare plans and report to support this
• Case management of legal disrepair claims including investigation, collation of evidence and presentation to management for approval.

  Job Requirements:

• Have a minimum of two years’ relevant experience as a Maintenance Team Leader or equivalent.
• Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities
• Proficiency in maintenance planning, scheduling, and budget management
• Familiarity with maintenance management software or systems
• Knowledge of relevant health and safety regulations (e.g., OSHA)
• Experience in preventative maintenance techniques
