Tempting Recruitment are working alongside our client, a Education Provider, who are looking to recruit an experienced Fixed Asset Accountant to join their team based in Grand Rapids.

• PAY RATE: $63,000 - $65,000 Per Annum
• WORK TYPE: Permanent 
• WORK PATTERN: Full Time
• LOCATION: Grand Rapids, MI 

JOB DESCRIPTION
The duties and responsibilities of the role will include:

• Help with the month-end close procedure to guarantee accurate and on-time financial reporting.
• Create and publish journal entries along with the necessary supplementary materials.
• Examine and evaluate monthly account activities; as necessary, create journal entries that reflect the corrections.
• Examine and balance designated general ledger accounts, such as different accounts for receivables, prepaid expenses, and accruals. Examine any deviations or oddities and take appropriate action.
• Reconcile balances to the general ledger and keep track of asset additions and disposals in the fixed asset ledger.
• Verify adherence to the most recent asset capitalization rules and regulations.
• As required, offer assistance with internal reporting and audits. additional tasks as delegated to assist the accounting department.

THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE
The successful candidate will have the following skills and competencies:

• An accounting bachelor's degree is preferred. three years of relevant experience in accounting.
  Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
• Be able to represent professionally and interact both orally and in writing with people from different business units across the organization.
• Experience with fixed assets is a bonus.
• As required, offer assistance with internal reporting and audits.
