Short Brief/Requirement:
Identify, develop and implement schemes, works and projects in relation to the maintenance and / or development of the Council’s infrastructure, evaluating proposals for prioritisation within the overall programme of works and producing designs and specifications for implementation


Key Responsibilities:

• Identify and evaluate potential schemes and projects in relation to the maintenance and/ or development of the Council’s infrastructure, produce designs and specifications for prioritisation within the overall programme of works
• Produce build quality drawings and specifications for approved projects for handover to Contract Management for delivery purposes
• Conduct surveys, inspections, investigations or site visits following the necessary procedures and proposing and implementing necessary remedial action
• To ensure compliance with your responsibilities as laid out in the Council’s health and safety policy and take an active role in promoting a positive health and safety culture
• To promote and participate in the Council’s investors in people (IIP) and individual performance appraisal and development (IPAD) initiatives and information management best practice

Job Requirements:

• Have a minimum of two years’ relevant experience as a Infrastructure Engineer or equivalent.
• Experience in the use of and operation of CAD, GIS and imaging software
• Experience of working to tight timescales and deadlines
• Knowledge of appropriate Health and Safety, Environmental Management Systems and Construction Design and Management regulations
• Competency in one or more of engineering and traffic design techniques
• Understanding of the political context and environment of Local Government
