Are you eager to land a brand new role? Our client, a busy Local Authority in Southeast England, are looking for an experienced Internal Auditor to join their team and play a crucial role in their internal review operations.       

Position: Capital Programme Principal
Rate: Negotiable (Umbrella, Outside IR35)
Contract Duration: Temporary (March 2026) with Possible Extension  
Working Arrangement: Hybrid

Purpose:

• Development of capital building programmes for schools and corporate buildings particularly premise condition and maintenance projects and to deliver against the objectives set out in the services Property Asset Management Strategy.

Job Responsibilities: 

• Development and monitoring of the corporate property and school's capital programmes, identifying priorities, providing guidance and support to the wider capital programme team.
• Preparation of specific client requirements and briefing documents for building projects on a wide range of public buildings, education and residential care settings.
• Provide a good understanding of the operation of schools and school buildings and the application of Department for Education Good Estate Management, Design Guides and Building Bulletins.

Job Requirements:

• Previous experience working within a local authority or a similar organisation.
• At least 1 year experience within a Capital Programme Principal role or equivalent.
• Professional and/or academic level qualification or equivalent in a relevant technical, scientific, specialised or operational field (building surveyor, quantity surveyor, architect, buildings engineer, facilities manager, project manager etc.)
• Qualified MRICS – Chartered Member – Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors or other recognised Construction/Property organisation.
• Evidence of Continuing Professional Development.
