Job Role: Licensing Compliance Officer
Temporary or Permanent: Temp
Possible End Date: Until December 2025 (possible extension to March 2026)
Rate of Pay: £30 p/h umbrella inside IR35
Location: Hammersmith
Office Based/Hybrid: 1 day in the office
Short Brief/Requirement:
To assist/deal with the administration of the Licensing Act 2003, Gambling Act 2005 and other Licensing functions of the Team.

To be responsible for delivering an efficient, effective and reliable support service to maintain professional and legal standards.

Achieving your full potential in delivering high quality services, supporting our P1 critical services and helping the Council discharge their statutory obligations.

Protecting the health, safety and welfare of residents, businesses, visitors and employees in Hammersmith & Fulham; working with businesses to help them comply with their legal duties.

Being committed to the Council’s core values and demonstrating this commitment in the way that duties are carried out by supporting the following teams/functions: Environmental Public Protection; Food Safety & Infectious Diseases; Health & Safety, Animal Health and Special Treatments; Licensing & Markets; Pest Control; Private Sector Housing & Trading Standards
  
Knowledge if Licensing Act & good presenting skills. Some evening on line meetings.
  
Key Responsibilities:

• Providing high quality, sound, timely and accurate professional/technical advice, guidance and information about any work matter, to customers, colleagues, members of the public, Elected Members (Councillors), Senior Managers, solicitors and other professionals in a clear format that is understandable and appropriate.
• Liaising with applicants, responsible authorities, Councillors, local residents, businesses, regulatory and other Council teams, teams and law enforcement partners, as appropriate.
• Ensuring that team correspondence/enquiries are processed speedily, in agreed time limits.
• Ensuring that received information entered onto intelligence systems meets the right criteria, has been quality checked, evaluated to meet required standards before dissemination.
• Undertaking any other duties, appropriate to the grade as directed by Senior Managers or Elected Members; deputising, as appropriate, for your Line Manager or colleague.

Job Requirements:

• Have a minimum of two years’ relevant experience as a Licensing Compliance Officer or equivalent.
• A good level of computer literacy e.g. MS Office applications and the ability to learn new systems.
• An interest and motivation to work within in a Regulatory/Law Enforcement setting.
• Properly handling evidence, records and data entry to ensure that confidentiality, continuity, evidence integrity, data quality, data protection and requirements for team intel are observed.
