Are you eager to land a brand new role? Our client, a busy local authority in Greenwich . Are looking for a Local Authority Designated Officer to join their organisation.

Job Role: Local Authority Designated Officer (LADO)
Temporary or Permanent: Temp
Possible Date: November 2025 start – May 2026 end possible extension
Location: Greenwich
Office Based/Hybrid: TBC
DBS Required: TBC but likely an Enhanced DBS required
Rate of Pay: £36.13 p/h umbrella


Key Responsibilities:

• Take responsibility for assuring that there is effective and timely follow up of actions agreed at meetings chaired.
• Lead and contribute to audits of practice, evaluate the quality of case audits undertaken and contribute to improving audit and assurance activity across children’s social care.
• Carry out case reviews including individual agency reviews as part of a Learning from Practice Review or Domestic Violence Homicide review.
• To provide advice and guidance to colleagues about legislation, government guidance, learning from audit/Child Safeguarding Practice Reviews and research
• Making decisions involving professionals’ careers, reputations, and the safety of children. Decisions made in the LADO role may be open to challenge-including legal challenge and providing evidence for employment tribunals

Job Requirements:

• Have a minimum of two years’ relevant experience as a Local Authority Designated Officer (LADO) or equivalent.
• Qualified / registered social worker with the Social Work England.
• Significant post-qualifying experience and evidence of continued professional study relevant to the post since qualification.
