Are you eager to land a brand new role? Our client, a busy Local Authority in Southeast England, are looking for an experienced Internal Auditor to join their team and play a crucial role in their internal review operations.       

Position: Internal Auditor
Rate: £350 per day (Umbrella, Outside IR35)
Contract Duration: Temporary (December 2025) with Possible Extension  
Working Arrangement: Remote 

Purpose:

• To take direct responsibility for delivering high quality internal audit reviews across the Partnership portfolio. To directly advise on the adequacy and effectiveness of the internal control framework to help clients to meet their business objectives and manage the risks facing their organisations.

Job Responsibilities: 

• Direct and lead in the delivery of internal audit reviews to a variety of partners/clients across the South of England.
• Using a risk-based approach, review risks facing the client and design a programme of work to review, evaluate and test the internal control framework in place to manage the risks. Analyse findings to assess the impact on the risk environment.
• Contribute to the development of the audit practice by designing audit programmes and implementing new approaches to audit work.

Job Requirements:

• Previous experience working within a local authority or a similar organisation.
• At least 1 year experience within a Voids Maintenance Officer role or equivalent.
• As a minimum, qualified Internal Audit Practitioner (IAP) or equivalent (level 4) relevant qualification, with significant experience.
• Evidence of Continuing Professional Development.
