Job Role: Internal Auditor
Temporary or Permanent: Temp
Possible End Date: December 2025
Location: Hampshire
Office Based/Hybrid: Remote
DBS Required: Enhanced DBS
Rate of Pay (Umbrella and Inside IR35): £350 per day

Key Responsibilities:

• To take direct responsibility for delivering high quality internal audit reviews across the Partnership portfolio.
• To directly advise on the adequacy and effectiveness of the internal control framework to help clients to meet their business objectives and manage the risks facing their organisations
• Using a risk-based approach, review risks facing the client and design a programme of work to review, evaluate and test the internal control framework in place to manage the risks.
• Form an opinion on the adequacy and effectiveness of the control framework currently in place to provide assurance to senior managers, Chief Officers and Members.
• To negotiate on required actions to address identified weaknesses and agree timescales and responsibilities.

Job Requirements:

• Have a minimum of two years’ relevant experience as a Internal Auditor or equivalent.
•  As a minimum, qualified Internal Audit Practitioner (IAP) or equivalent (level 4) relevant qualification, with significant experience.
• Must have LA experience
• Able to prepare draft audit reports to a high quality standard.
• Experience in and good understanding of the risk-based approach to audit.
• Experience of assessing internal controls and devising testing strategies
