Are you eager to land a brand new role? Our client, a busy local authority in Gosport. Are looking for a Senior Building Surveyor to join their organisation.

Job Role: Senior Building Surveyor
Temporary or Permanent: Temp
Possible End Date: Until March 2026 (possible extension)
Number of Positions: 1 position
Location: Gosport
Office Based/Hybrid: 3 days in the office, ideally living within 1 hour commute
DBS Required: Basic DBS required
Rate of Pay: £300 a day umbrella inside IR35
Pay Negotiable: Possibly

Key Responsibilities:

• You and the Property Services Team will be responsible for surveying our housing stock and corporate assets, evaluating and diagnosing what work is required, assessing the best options to carry out the work, issuing repairs or preparing specifications of work as necessary and managing the work undertaken and a varied range of projects.
• The projects carried out may include decorations to external and communal areas, cladding, fire safety work, window replacement, re-roofing, electrical work, extensions, and structural repairs.
• You will allocate workloads and be responsible for the development of your team, including facilitating relevant training, to ensure the service delivers a consistent approach to surveying and managing schemes, in accordance with current policies and legislation.
• You will assist with the procurement and management of contracts, ensuring that the service is delivered in accordance with agreed terms and conditions.
• You will liaise with customers and stakeholders as appropriate regarding the repairs and maintenance service, including residents, leaseholders, local councillors, building users and other Gosport BC section heads. 

Job Requirements:

• Have a minimum of two years’ relevant experience as a Senior Building Surveyor or equivalent.
•  Have a degree or HNC level qualification in a relevant building surveying or construction related subject and preferably either RICS or CIOB member status.
• The post holder will be required to hold a full current driving licence and have a car available; essential car user allowance will be paid.
• Have knowledge and be able to apply building related and health & safety legislation, contract law and guidance.
• building regulations, planning law, party wall act, fire safety, electrical inspections, gas installations, JCT and NEC contracts, CDM Regulations  and asbestos at work regulations, with the ability to advise others.
