Are you eager to land a brand new role? Our client, a busy Local Authority in South Yorkshire, are looking for an experienced Waste Collection Driver to join their team and play a crucial role in their household waste collection operations.      

Position: Waste Collection Driver
Rate: £16.81 per hour (Umbrella, Outside IR35)
Contract: Temporary (End of October 2025) with Possible Extension 

Purpose:

• Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team working throughout the borough delivering council services and responding to community priorities ensuring that the household waste collection service is completed with the daily task.

Job Responsibilities: 

• Understand the operation of mechanical machinery to facilitate emptying of refuse containers.
• Ensure the completion of all daily tasks while ensuring the safety of employees, colleagues, and members of the public including children; you will be responsible for the safe collection of bins along your route.
• Undertake operational duties which will involve a wide range of physically and mentally demanding tasks in all weathers.

Job Requirements:

• Previous experience working within a local authority or a similar organisation.
• Experience within a Waste Collection Driver role or equivalent.
• To hold a valid UK driving licence to ‘Category C1’ standard.
• Evidence of Continuing Professional Development.
