Rate of Pay (Umbrella and Inside IR35): £23.70
Short Brief/Requirement:
You will be carrying out a range of construction and property maintenance activities within Southampton City boundary.   

You will be provided with a van, uniform and PPE.

You will be liaising with residents, peers and colleagues on a daily basis so communication and customer focus will be essential to the role.

Purpose:

• We are looking for a confident and self-motivated individual who has the ability to multi-task and can carry out small works in other trade disciplines, to undertake the role of a Plumber within Southampton City Council’s Housing Operations team. 
• It is essential for you to have a practical understanding of the construction / property maintenance industry. 
  
  

Key Responsibilities:

•  To produce a quality and quantity of work commensurate with that of an experienced and competent Plumber with the ability to adapt and undertake a range of tasks outside of the initial core trade (as listed below) which will enable the task to be completed by a single visit wherever practicable.
• To undertake fault finding/diagnosis and/or problem solving on-site to determine the scope of works required with considerable demand for both speed and precision of the proposed remedial actions in accordance with policies.

Job Requirements:

• To have served a recognised apprenticeship to a Level 2 - 3 qualification in Plumbing or equivalent with 3 years’ experience of working in the domestic, commercial construction & maintenance environment
• Current full UK driving license in order to drive vehicles throughout the City
• Have a practical understanding of the construction / property maintenance industry with the ability to interpret the Council’s policies and procedures and relevant statutory regulations.
