Are you eager to land a brand new role? Our client, a local Authority in North London  are looking for a Senior Lawyer - Contracts/Procurement and Information to join their team.

Position: Senior Lawyer - Contracts/Procurement and Information
Location: North London
Duration: 3 Months with a possible extension.
Hours: 36 Hours Per week
Rate: £25.56

Purpose of the Role: 

• To support the development of Public Law with Team Leaders and Service Managers within this London Council.
  

• To advise and have conduct of legal files on behalf of all the clients of this council's  Public Law, including local authorities, housing associations and schools and to provide advice representation and undertake research as requested in relation to Contracts, Procurement & Information matters.
• To attend at meetings and court which may take place outside of normal office hours and off site as required and;
• To advise officers and members, including in public forums, in a proactive and politically sensitive manner; and
• To give guidance, mentor and give training to less experienced team members.
• To deputise for senior lawyers as and when required.

• The post holder must be a fellow of the Chartered Institute of Legal
  Executives, qualified solicitor, barrister or appropriately qualified overseas lawyer.
• Attends member level meetings to give legal advice and assistance, with support as required.

• Research & advise on legal areas outside own specialism
  Meets targets and complies with the Practice’s quality management systems,including keeping accurate and timely recording of records
• Carries out work with limited supervision
• Carries out complex legal work
• Conducts fairly high profile cases
• Draft and negotiates straightforward original legal documents,
  correspondence and pleadings
