Are you eager to land a brand new role? Our client, a busy local authority in Northwest London, are looking for an experienced Senior Housing Services Accountant to join their team and play a crucial role in their housing operations.  

Position: Senior Housing Services Accountant
Rate: £550 per day (Umbrella, Inside IR35)
Contract Duration: Temporary (6 Months) with Possible Extension 

Purpose:

• To provide professional financial advice and support to the Housing Services Division based on a sound understanding of the business and the regulatory/accounting regime.

Job Responsibilities: 

• Co-ordinate both the revenue and capital budget preparation, budget monitoring and closure of accounts work, including capital financing, for Housing Services.
• The post holder will produce, monitor and close the Housing Revenue Account (£29m revenue and £10m capital) and the Housing General Fund budgets (£8m in 2012/13).
• To lead and/or participate in improvement projects or matrix management projects as directed, as part of the Division’s transformation and improvement agenda.

Job Requirements:

• Previous experience working within a local authority or a similar organisation.
• At least 1 year experience within a Senior Housing Services Accountant role or equivalent.
• CCAB qualified accountant.
• Expert knowledge on the operation and accounting for the HRA.
• Evidence of Continuing Professional Development.
