Are you eager to land a brand new role? Our client, a busy Local Authority in East Anglia, are looking for an experienced Commercial Estates Surveyor to join their team and play a crucial role in their property/estates operations.  

Position: Commercial Estates Surveyor
Rate: £25.20 per hour (Umbrella, Inside IR35)
Contract Duration: Temporary (October 2025) with Possible Extension  

Purpose:

• To assist with general estate management, including managing disposals, acquisitions, valuations, letting of property, lease renewals, rent reviews, condition surveys, compensation and statutory claims, insurance valuations, rating assessments and provision of property and valuation advice.

Job Responsibilities: 

• Assist with commissioning and monitoring of general estate management functions, including managing records of legal titles in property, disposals, acquisitions, valuations, letting of property, lease renewals, rent reviews, condition surveys, compensation and statutory claims, insurance valuations, rating assessments and provision of property and valuation advice.
• Review surplus properties and land to assess options and make recommendations for disposal (direct development, sale or renting out), taking account of town planning policies, commercial opportunities and council service objectives, to optimise financial income (capital and/or income).

Job Requirements:

• Previous experience working within a local authority or a similar organisation.
• At least 1 year experience within a Commercial Estates Surveyor role or equivalent.
• Three years’ experience in property and/or project development, valuation and management of commercial and residential property and related activities.
• Demonstrable knowledge and experience of property valuation techniques, legal documents, contract law and town planning aspects of property management and development.
• Demonstrable knowledge of general property legislation including Landlord and Tenant, Estate Management, compulsory purchase, compensation, Construction Technology, environmental protection etc.
• Evidence of Continuing Professional Development.
