Are you eager to land a brand new role? Our client, a busy local authority in Southwest England, are looking for an experienced Finance Business Partner to join their team and play a crucial role in their finance operations.  

Position: Finance Business Partner
Rate: £500-£600 per day (Umbrella, Inside IR35)
Contract Duration: Temporary (July 2025) with Possible Extension 
Working Pattern: Hybrid Working 

Purpose:

• Responsible for delivering high quality financial advice and commercial & financial expertise to the organisation.

Key Responsibilities:

• Take a full and proactive approach in managing and delivering timely financial and management accounting services, including all aspects of budgeting, medium- and long-term financial planning, project and transformation programme support, forecasting, financial reporting and control.
  
• To act as an integral member of the finance management team and drawing on specialist expertise identifying, developing and supporting opportunities and initiatives to transform the delivery of financial services and governance across the council and contribute to strategic and operational developments.
• Provide trusted proactive robust strategic and operational financial management, commercial and financial planning advice and support related to option analysis, business case development and budget management.

Job Requirements:

• Previous experience working within a local authority or a similar organisation.
• At least 1 year experience within a Finance Business Partner role or equivalent.
• Relevant professional qualification - CCAB (or equivalent) qualification, or for risk Certified Member of the Institute of Risk Management.
• Knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards, the financial markets, funding requirements and opportunities.
• Knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards, the SORP and Code of Practice, funding requirements and opportunities.
• Knowledge of Council Tax Collection Fund accounting, business rates and council tax budget setting processes.
