Rate: £22.01
Hours: 37 Hours a week.

About the Role:

The Procurement Officer will play a key role in supporting the Council’s procurement activity. currently moving across to a new ERP system Oracle and within this system the candidate will lead on New Supplier Set up (as it did under the old SAP system). We are looking for an officer experienced in the use of the Oracle System and New Supplier Set up. 

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as a first point of contact for procurement queries, escalating where appropriate.
• Provide advice and guidance on RBKC procurement procedures and ensure adherence to relevant regulations.
• Support and/or lead on procurement exercises, including tendering for goods, works, and services.
• Collaborate with colleagues across Procurement and Finance to manage supplier onboarding, system support, and reporting.
• Process new supplier requests, ensuring compliance, accuracy, and timely data input.
• Maintain and support procurement systems, including user setup and training development.
• Ensure contract compliance and assist with catalogue maintenance, the contract register, and related systems.
• Monitor procurement data for transparency reporting and ensure systems remain GDPR compliant.
• Contribute to procurement reporting and analysis as required.
• Advise stakeholders on procurement best practices, contract sourcing, and cost-saving opportunities.
• Deliver excellent customer service in line with Council policies on Equal Opportunities, GDPR, and Health & Safety.

• Experience of working within a procurement environment.
• Experience with Oracle in regards to Procurement.
• Experience with New Starter Supplier Set ups.
• Excellent communication skill to enable good stakeholder engagement.
• High degree of computer literacy, including a good knowledge of excel for data manipulation. 
• Knowledge of Procurement principles, policies, and practices, including some understanding of the complexity of public procurement.
• Some understanding of how an Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Income Management System and Accounting to Reporting processes work. 
• Experiences and knowledge of procurement, finance and contract management systems, and ability to produce reports using multiple criteria and extract and re-use data in Microsoft Office products, data maintenance and manipulation.
