About the Role:

This role involves leading procurement and contract management for my clients shared IT services. The successful candidate will develop procurement strategies, manage supplier relationships, and ensure compliance with public sector regulations. Key responsibilities include driving value for money, overseeing contract performance, and collaborating with stakeholders to align procurement with organizational goals. 

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and deliver the core Digital & IT procurement strategy, ensuring compliance with public sector legislation.
• Manage the complete lifecycle of Digital & IT contracts, including negotiations and supplier performance.
• Develop short, medium, and long-term procurement plans aligned with the Digital & IT service strategy.
• Drive value for money (VFM) in commissioning spend and contract performance.
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to align procurement activities with organisational goals.
• Provide expertise in IT market trends and supplier management.
• Ensure adherence to commissioning governance and best practices.
• Foster a collaborative environment to support innovation and efficiency.
• Oversee contract performance and implement improvements to achieve service objectives.

• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in purchasing IT solutions or procurement within the IT category.
• CIPS Level 3 qualification or equivalent.
• In-depth knowledge of public sector procurement legislation (e.g., PCR 2015).
• Strong understanding of IT markets, suppliers, and emerging technologies.
• Proficiency in contract management and performance evaluation.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.
• Ability to work flexibly in a hybrid environment and manage multiple priorities.
• Experience in local government or shared service environments.
