About the Role:  My client are seeking a highly skilled Contract Manager to support the implementation and ongoing management of a newly procured NEC4 Facilities Management Contract (FMC). This role will play a critical part in developing the internal processes, tools, and capabilities required for effective contract management.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support the successful rollout of the NEC4 FMC contract, ensuring smooth transition and alignment with council objectives.
• Ensure suppliers adhere to contractual commitments, monitoring service quality and implementing corrective measures when necessary.
• Provide commercial assurance and strategic direction, coordinating related projects and aligning contract outcomes with council priorities.
• Establish effective monitoring mechanisms to track compliance, manage risks, and uphold value for money.
• Analyse contract financials, manage budgets, and oversee payments to ensure fiscal responsibility and accuracy.
• Act as the council’s strategic lead for supplier relationships, negotiations, and contract variations, collaborating with key internal and external stakeholders.
• Serve as an escalation point for contractual disputes, mitigating risks and ensuring smooth contract operations.
• Keep abreast of industry best practices and use insights to enhance contract management strategies and service delivery.

• Demonstrable experience in implementing and managing NEC contracts within a complex public or private sector environment.
• Proven expertise in contract negotiations, financial oversight, and strategic contract management.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret policies and assess their impact.
• Excellent communication skills, capable of presenting complex information to diverse audiences.
• Ability to work independently, exercising discretion and initiative in high-level decision-making.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and a willingness to adopt new digital tools.
• Commitment to equalities and diversity, ensuring inclusive and fair contract management practices.
• Experience leveraging digital technology to enhance contract management and service delivery.
• Knowledge of benchmarking and market testing techniques for contract reviews.
