Are you eager to land a brand new role? Our client, a busy local authority in London, are looking for an experienced Principal Traffic Oder Maker to join their team and play a crucial role in their surveying operations.  

Position: Principal Traffic Order Maker
Location: Harrow
Salary: £24.80 per hour (PAYE, Inside IR35) 
Contract Duration: Temporary (July 2025) with Possible Extension
Location: Hybrid Mix of hoe and office/onsite client premises.

Purpose:

• My client are seeking a Principal Traffic Order Maker to join their team. You will be responsible for drafting and implementing a wide range of traffic management orders, as well as managing the associated statutory consultations and public notices.

Key Responsibilities:

• Traffic Order Creation – Draft, prepare, and implement a variety of traffic management orders, including permanent, temporary, and experimental orders in accordance with legal requirements.
• Statutory Consultation & Public Notices – Manage the statutory consultation process, liaising with stakeholders, residents, and businesses to ensure compliance with legal obligations.
• Regulatory Compliance – Ensure all traffic orders comply with the Road Traffic Regulation Act and other relevant legislation.
• Collaboration & Advisory Role – Work closely with highways, transport planning, and enforcement teams, providing expert advice on traffic management orders and related legal matters.
• Technical Documentation & GIS Mapping – Use CAD, GIS, and imaging software to produce accurate traffic order maps and associated legal documentation.
• Stakeholder Engagement – Liaise with council members, legal teams, TfL, emergency services, and the public, addressing queries and concerns related to traffic orders.
• Data Analysis & Reporting – Analyse traffic data and provide reports to support decision-making on traffic regulation measures.

Job Requirements:

• A comprehensive understanding of the Road Traffic Regulation Act and related procedural regulations.
• Experience working in cross-functional teams.
• Proficiency in CAD, GIS, and imaging software.
• A strong track record in drafting and consulting on traffic management orders.
• Extensive experience in drafting legal documentation.
• Excellent IT skills with the ability to produce accurate work within deadlines.
• The ability to work independently, take initiative, and solve problems effectively.
