Are you eager to land a brand new role? Our client, a busy local authority in in Northeast England, are looking for an experienced Finance Service Manager to join their team and play a crucial role in their Financial operations. 

Position: Finance Service Manager
Rate: £47.50 per hour (Umbrella, Inside IR35)
Contract Duration: Temporary (3-4 Months) with Possible Extension 

Purpose:

• Technical, professional and legislative knowledge and understanding of national policies, statutory requirements, relevant frameworks and accountabilities in relation to local government finance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Able to work effectively in a political environment with a high degree of political awareness and sensitivity, providing clear professional advice and rationale.
• Able to analyse financial information and complex issues within a political environment utilising an evidence-based approach to understand the issues and work cooperatively to help service users meet their needs.
• Business acumen, and financial and risk management skills and a track record of transformation of services to deliver improved value for money and more efficient ways of delivering outcomes.
• To provide financial advice and guidance to senior managers and elected Members on local government finance and projects.

Job Requirements:

• Previous experience working within a local authority or a similar organisation.
• At least 1 year experience within a Finance Service Manager role or equivalent.
• Evidence of Continuing Professional Development
• CCAB qualification or equivalent.
