Are you eager to land a brand new role? Our client, a busy local authority in Southwest England, are looking for an experienced Senior Applications Support Officer to join their team and play a crucial role in their IT operations.  

Position: Senior Applications Support Officer
Rate: £400 per day (Umbrella, Inside IR35)
Contract Duration: Temporary (3 Months) with Possible Extension 

Purpose:

• The Senior Application Support Officer is responsible for day to day supervision and management of an identified area of the Application Support Team.
• The team are responsible for managing the day to day running of the councils IT applications, this includes a helpdesk function; system upgrades; access, event and request fulfilment processes, and for ensuring all other associated tasks are carried out effectively and timely. Ensuring effective management of IT incidents/requests and their resolution, providing appropriate and timely updates minimising impact to customers and stakeholders.

Duties: 

• Manage the development, implementation, maintenance and improvement of Application Support policies, processes, procedures and standards.
• Lead/oversee co-ordination of system upgrades.
• Lead/oversee co-ordination of system upgrades.
• Lead and support the measurement and benchmarking of an Application Support Function that provides consistent processes, standards, and best practice.

Job Requirements:

• Previous experience working within a local authority or a similar organisation.
• At least 1 year experience within a Senior Applications Support Officer role or equivalent.
• Evidence of Continuing Professional Development. 
• Experience using and developing a wide range of U4ERP modules including GL, AR, AP, Planner and logistics. 
• Experience in 2nd line support and issue resolution including system upgrades. 

Report writing skills including:

• Good SQL knowledge
• Report Studio including XtraReports
• Information browsers & Analysis
