Are you eager to land a brand new role? Our client, a busy local authority in West Sussex, are looking for an experienced Principal Registered Building Inspector to join their team and play a crucial role in their building control operations.  

Position: Principal Registered Building Inspector
Rate: £65 per hour (Umbrella, Inside IR35)
Working Pattern: Hybrid - 2 days per week in the office 
Contract Duration: Temporary (6 Months) with Possible Extension 

Key Responsibilities:

• To provide the technical lead to the team of Building Control Inspectors to ensure that construction work is in accordance with legislation and regulatory standards.
• To lead as the principal technical professional on Building Control matters, to deliver a professional Building Control service for HDC.
• To assist in allocating, monitoring and reviewing Building Control casework, to ensure an efficient workload across the team and to make sure that the decisions and recommendations made are accurate and in line with regulatory standards and best practice.
• To contribute to the development and improvement of processes and procedures relating to Building Control, informed by policies and operational experience of what works and what doesn't, to ensure that building control policies can be applied successfully.

Job Requirements:

• Previous experience working within a local authority or a similar organisation.
• At least 1 year experience within a Registered Building Inspector role or equivalent.
• Evidence of Continuing Professional Development. 
• Member of a relevant professional body such as RICS, CABE, CIOB or equivalent with relevant Building Control bias and evidence of achieving CPD requirement.
• Registered as a minimum Class 2F (plans checking and inspections) with the BSR.
• Significant experience of Building Control and enforcement activity.
