Location: Lewisham
Contract Type: Temporary (24/02/2025 – 24/08/2025) 6 months
Hours: 35 per week (08:00 – 16:30)
IR35 Status: Inside IR35
Rate: £24.28
Reporting To: Pest Control Manager
  
Job Purpose
  
To be responsible for the day-to-day delivery of pest control services within Greenwich Council, ensuring an effective and high-quality service to residential, commercial, and industrial premises.
  
Key Responsibility
  

• Conduct surveys of properties, including testing drains and sewers, to identify types and causes of infestations by rodents or other pests.
• Determine and apply appropriate treatments to eradicate infestations effectively.
• Work collaboratively as part of a team to deliver high-quality pest control services.
• Maintain coordination with repair teams to manage pest control activities efficiently.
• Use and deploy pest control materials and equipment in accordance with relevant specifications.
• Collect payments for services, issue receipts, and maintain transaction records following council procedures.
• Carry out tracing, baiting, poisoning, and trapping of rodents or other pests in compliance with legislation, codes of practice, and technical recommendations.
• Certify the abatement of reported infestations.
• Assist in organising and executing pigeon/rodent proofing measures, including cleaning and removing bird/rodent faecal matter.
• Collect, transport, cleanse, process, and dispose of condemned food and other articles as required.

  
Essential Requirements
  

• Level 2 Certificate in Pest Control awarded by the Royal Society of Public Health or an equivalent body. (Candidates without this qualification will not be considered.)
• Full UK driving licence (manual transmission) with a clean record (license checks will be conducted).
