Are you eager to land a brand new role? Our client, a busy local authority in South Yorkshire, are looking for an experienced Purchasing Officer to join their team and play a crucial role in their Human Resources operations. 

Position: Purchasing Officer
Salary: £17 per hour (Umbrella, Inside IR35) 
Contract: Temporary (April 2025) with Possible Extension
Working Pattern: Hybrid

Key Responsibilities:

• To support the provision and purchasing of externally supplied and internally developed IT products and services.
• Implementation of compliant procurement processes, taking full account of the issues and imperatives of both the commissioning and supplier sides.
• Identification and management of suppliers to ensure successful delivery of products and services required by the business.
• Monitors the supply chain using market intelligence to identify key suppliers in the delivery of IT goods and services.

Job Requirements:

• Previous experience working within a local authority or a similar organisation.
• At least 1 year experience within a Purchasing Officer role or equivalent.
• Evidence of continuing professional development.
• Level 4 qualification or Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (CIPS) Diploma.
• Willingness to undertake the IOSH Working Safely course.
