Are you eager to land a brand new role? Our client, a busy local authority in the Durham, are looking for an experienced Safeguarding Liaison Officer to join their team and play a crucial role in their Safeguarding operations. 

Position: Safeguarding Liaison Officer
Rate: £23 per hour (Umbrella) 
Contract Duration: Temporary (March 2025) with Possible Extension

Key Responsibilities:

• Duty: initial data and information gathering for the Safeguarding Adults Manager to ensure they are in a position to make decisions on Safeguarding Alerts, duty visits and Mental Capacity assessments, taking responsibility for referring cases that do not meet the threshold.
• Individual Cases: working to the Safeguarding Adults Manager (Senior Practitioner) taking a lead role in the effective implementation and communication of the Safeguarding Adults process to all involved.
• Deliver one or more of the following areas: Mental Capacity/Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards (DoLS); Brent Safeguarding Adults Board Performance Improvement Plan, Brent Safeguarding Adults Board Governance; Safeguarding Adults Performance Data and Monitoring.

Job Requirements:

• Previous experience working within a local authority or a similar organisation.
• At least 1 year experience within a Safeguarding Liaison Officer or equivalent.
• Evidence of continuing professional development.
• NVQ Level 3 or equivalent professional entry qualification.
• Knowledge of Safeguarding Adults processes and thresholds and eligibility criteria for adult social services.
• Knowledge and understanding of Equality Duties and practice.
