Tempting Recruitment are working alongside our client, a Local Authority, who are looking to recruit an experienced Senior Social Worker/Senior Practitioner (Deputy Team Manager) to join their team based in South London.

JOB SUMMARY
The Deputy Team Managers, with the Team Manager, will be responsible for providing leadership for the whole team by providing a supervisory and oversight service to Social Workers, Occupational Therapists and any other clinical or non-professionally qualified colleagues. The post holder will do this through the provision of management, professional expertise, skills and advice to ensure we deliver high quality services are within adult services

JOB DESCRIPTION
The duties and responsibilities of the role will include:  

• To manage and supervise a cohort of social care practitioners which may include workers from different professional backgrounds, ASYE and student placements. This will include coordinating induction programmes for new staff, setting objectives, completing performance reviews, and supporting significant areas of people management.
• To act as an expert practitioner within the service, representing their profession effectively by providing oversight, guidance and advice to colleagues to guide appropriate and safe decision making

THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE
The successful candidate will have the following skills and competencies:

• Has to be a qualified and registered Social Worker
• Post qualification training / award at higher or advanced level or equivalent expertise or experience in a relevant field.
• Knowledge of current and proposed Social Care legislation relating to Adults, including safeguarding, mental capacity and deprivation of liberty legislation and best practice. An appreciation and understanding of current issues in social work practice, social sciences and theory
