Are you a skilled Purchasing Officer seeking an exciting opportunity to contribute to work with a local authority?

Position: Purchasing Officer
Rate: £17 per hour
Contract Duration: 3 - 6 months (with possible extension)
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 9 am to 5 pm
   
   
Key Responsibilities:

• To support the provision and purchasing of externally supplied and internally developed IT products and services. 
• Proven ability to work innovatively and collaboratively with people at all levels inside and outside of the organisation. 
• Good organisation, problem solving and time management skills with the ability to be flexible and self-motivated. Must be numerate with good attention to detail.
• Experienced in digital processing and Microsoft applications and platforms.
• Some experience of finance processing preferrable. 
  
  

Job Requirements:

• Previous experience working within a local authority or a similar organisation.
• At least 2 years’ experience within a Payroll Officer role or equivalent.
• Previous work experience, in particular gained within a financial environment.
• Excellent customer service skills with proven ability to communicate effectively (both written and verbal), in particular when resolving complaints and other matters.
