Are you eager to land a brand new role? Our client, a busy local authority in Northeast England, are looking for an experienced Fire Safety Officer to join their team and play a crucial role in their Health and Safety operations. 

Position: Fire Safety Officer
Rate: £20.02 per hour (Umbrella) 
Contract Duration: Temporary (April 2025) with Possible Extension

Key Responsibilities:

• To advise the Council on the most appropriate and cost effective standards of fire safety in its premises and work operations in accordance with the relevant statutory requirements and codes of practice.
• To carry out fire risk assessments, fire safety inspections and DSEAR assessments of Council premises, sites and work operations as required.
• To prepare, assessments, CAD fire safety plans and reports.

Job Requirements:

• Previous experience working within a local authority or a similar organisation.
• At least 2 years’ experience within a Fire Safety Officer role or equivalent.
• Evidence of continuing professional development.
• NVQ L4 qualification in fire risk assessment or fire safety audit.
• The post holder should have a sound knowledge of current fire safety legislation and relevant underpinning guidance such as BS9999 and DCLG sector guidance.
