Are you eager to land a brand new role? Our client, a London Borough , are looking for a Public Protection Manager to join their team.

Position: Public Protection Manager
Rate: £500 per day on an Umbrella PAYE basis.
Duration: Three Months

The hiring manager is seeking someone with management experience, including handling environmental crime, overseeing CCTV provision, and managing enforcement contracts. This role will also provide additional management support to a very busy team. This is a hybrid role.


Key Responsibilities:

• Ensure that people and premises meet statutory requirements in compliance with relevant council policies and procedures.
• Investigate, inspect, and take all necessary follow-up actions to ensure premises subject to commercial legislative requirements are compliant
• Represent the Council, including acting as a duly authorised officer, to educate and collaborate with relevant organisations, enhancing the safety and well-being of residents, businesses, and visitors to Harrow.
• Oversee the compliant delivery of all applicable functions within the Licensing and Enforcement Service to ensure the Council’s statutory and policy obligations are met.
• Maximise the resources under direct management to achieve optimal outcomes.

Job Requirements:

• Conduct inspections and investigations of premises to ensure compliance with commercial legislative requirements.
• Enforce statutory requirements, taking necessary actions to address non-compliance, including issuing notices and escalating matters when required.
• Act as a representative of the Council in interactions with businesses, organisations, and stakeholders to promote awareness of compliance and safety standards.
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to improve community safety and well-being.
• Manage and allocate resources effectively to deliver the objectives of the Licensing and Enforcement Service.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant legislation, council policies, and best practices in licensing and enforcement.
• Use of personal vehicle for council-related business with proof of business insurance required.
• Use of council vehicles as necessary, subject to a valid driving license and DVLA checks.
• Public transport may also be utilised when appropriate.
