Are you eager to land a brand new role? Our client, a large Housing Association , are looking for an experienced Management Accountant to join their team.

Position: Management Accountant
Rate: £40297 per year

To provide the best financial information and support for our development business and other internal and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and Deliver Financial Reports: Produce monthly management accounts, assist with annual statutory accounts, and ensure reporting deadlines are consistently met.
• Budgeting and Forecasting: Prepare budgets, forecasts, and conduct variance analyses to support financial planning.
• Data Analysis and Reporting: Extract, manipulate, and analyse data using advanced Excel and finance systems to generate insights, respond to ad hoc queries, and improve reporting processes.
• Stakeholder Collaboration: Build trusted relationships with budget holders and stakeholders, communicate financial information effectively, and provide guidance.
• Team Management and Development: Oversee and review the work of the assistant management accountant, ensuring accuracy and fostering professional growth.
• Reconciliation and Compliance: Perform balance sheet reconciliations, process journals (accruals and prepayments), and maintain technical accounting knowledge to align with standards.
• Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to enhance processes, challenge existing practices, and contribute to projects and additional responsibilities as needed.

Job Requirements:

• Educated to GCSE and A-Level standard (or equivalent), including GCSE passes in English and Maths.
• Relevant degree or AAT Level 4 qualification.
• Qualified or studying towards a professional accounting qualification (ACA/CIMA/ACCA) is desirable.
• Suitable for a qualified accountant, accounting technician to Level 4, or someone studying towards a professional qualification or Level 4 AAT.
• Relevant experience in financial reporting, management accounting, budgeting, working with financial systems, and collaborating as part of a larger team.
• Strong all-round IT skills with expert-level proficiency in Excel. Experience with specialist financial systems is desirable.
• Ability to analyse, interpret, and present financial information clearly and concisely.
• Proven ability to manage workload and meet deadlines effectively.
• Some staff management experience is desirable.
