Are you eager to land a brand new role? Our client, a local authority in London , are looking for an experienced Electrical Safety Lead to join their team and play a crucial role in their operations. 

Position: Electrical Safety Lead
Rate: £30 per hour (Umbrella)
Contract Duration: Temporary (March) with Possible Extension

The Electrical Safety Contract Lead is responsible for overseeing the delivery of Electrical Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) schedules within the London Borough. This role involves managing the performance and compliance of electrical safety systems, ensuring that all maintenance activities are completed to a high standard and within the regulatory timeframe. The role demands excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively with a wide range of stakeholders, including internal teams and external contractors.

Key Responsibilities:

• Ensure 100% compliance with PPM schedules for electrical safety within required timescales.
• Quality control all completed certifications to verify accuracy and content.
• Ensure timely uploading of certifications to the Compliance Management System for accurate compliance reporting.
• Manage budgets efficiently and ensure cost-effective service delivery.
• Stay informed on best practices, emerging legislation, and regulatory changes to improve safety, security, and affordability for tenants.
• Manage internal staff and contractors to ensure timely delivery of services.
• Ensure all health and safety (H&S) regulations are followed and maintained.
• Contribute to broader council goals, including job creation, climate change action, and tackling inequality.

Job Requirements:

• Manage operational, regulatory, and statutory compliance for all electrical safety systems.
• Oversee PPM schedules and budget performance, providing monthly compliance, KPI, and financial reports.
• Coordinate replacement and upgrade requirements with the Capital and Repairs teams.
• Monitor and manage contracts to ensure adherence to terms and maximize operational efficiency.
• Maintain and update contract documentation, including asset information.
• Conduct post-inspections on completed work to ensure high-quality outcomes.
• Provide ongoing feedback in contract performance reviews to drive continuous improvement.
• Carry out inspections and risk assessments as required, reporting findings for resolution.
• Stay up to date with regulatory changes and ensure the team is trained accordingly.
• Support residents, particularly vulnerable individuals, ensuring a satisfactory outcome for all concerns.
• Offer technical support to the Regen/Development teams during property handovers.
• Be available for out-of-hours work and on-call responsibilities when needed.
