Are you eager to land a brand new role? Our client, a local authority in London, are looking for an experienced Asbestos Surveyor to join their team and play a crucial role in their home ownership services.
Position: Asbestos SurveyorRate: £35.50 per hour (Umbrella)
Contract Duration: Temporary (April 2025) with Possible Extension
Job Advert: Temporary Asbestos Surveyor Location: Civic Offices, Guildhall Square, Portsmouth
Working Arrangement: Remote working possible, with attendance at least once a week.
Requirements - Qualification: P402 (or equivalent).
- Experience: Minimum of 6 months in asbestos surveying or management.
- License: Full UK driving license (required for travel across Portsmouth to various sites).
Essential Skills - Asbestos Surveys & Sampling:
- Conduct ad hoc asbestos surveys and sampling in compliance with the Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012.
- Assist in creating and maintaining asbestos management plans for various assets.
- Data Management:
- Update and manage asbestos registers and site-specific data using relevant software tools.
- Perform analysis and reporting using Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word).
- Communication & Collaboration:
- Maintain clear communication with the in-house compliance team and external contractors.
- Build effective working relationships with stakeholders, ensuring excellent service delivery.
- Health & Safety Knowledge:
- Awareness and application of construction-related health and safety legislation, including CDM regulations and working-at-height protocols.
- Organisational Abilities:
- Plan and manage survey schedules efficiently to meet project deadlines.
Role Description:You will support Portsmouth City Council's compliance team by conducting asbestos surveys, ad hoc sampling, and maintaining asbestos management plans across the council’s housing stock and varied assets. You may also assist in the coordination of asbestos removal projects with specialist contractors.
