Are you eager to land a brand new role? Our client, a local authority in Newbury, are looking for an experienced Project Officer to join their team and play a crucial role in their capital work/projects operations. 

Position: Project Officer (Property Team)
Rate: £50 per hour (Umbrella) 
Contract Duration: Temporary (March 2025) with Possible Extension  
Working Pattern: Hybrid (2 days in the office) 

Key Responsibilities:

• To assist the Capital Projects Delivery Manager in the project management and delivery of capital projects, the annual capital maintenance programme and other relevant strategic and service objectives.
• To assist in developing a 3 year programme of capital maintenance works.
• To develop for each project with the Client, a procurement and delivery process that takes into account project value, cost, complexity, risk and value for money.
• Professionally manage delivery of projects by external consultants and contractors and ensure that all contracted parties fully meet appropriate standards, terms and conditions of their engagement.

Job Requirements:

• Previous experience working within a local authority or a similar organisation.
• At least 2 years’ experience within a Principal Urban Design Officer role or equivalent.
• Professional qualification relevant to construction project management. 
• Educated to degree level and/or professional membership of a construction related institute.
• 3 years’ experience working in construction project management. 
• Full driving license and able to make regular and frequent site visits at various locations.
