Are you eager to land a brand new role? Our client, a local authority in South London, are looking for an experienced Operational and Technical Support Assistant to join their team and play a crucial role in their administrative operations. 

Position: Operational and Technical Support Assistant
Rate: £18 per hour (Umbrella) 
Contract Duration: Temporary (June 2025) with Possible Extension  
Working Pattern: Hybrid (3 days in the office) 

Key Responsibilities:

• To provide an exceptional advice and information service across all contact channels to residents, businesses and other stakeholders such as Licensing, Food and Safety, Noise Nuisance, Air Quality and Pollution, Pest Control, Private Sector Housing and Trading Standards.
• Duties include a wide range of administrative and technical tasks including dealing with enquiries across all contact channels from business and residents, liaising with all responsible parties and stakeholders, accurately capturing and inputting data, assessing applications, checking and verifying documents, processing payments and issuing licenses.
• To process applications and requests for Noise and Pollution, Food and Safety, pest control, less complex licenses such as Temporary Event Notices, Personal Licences, Street Trading, permits, grants and registrations in accordance with agreed procedures and timescales.

Knowledge of the Legislation in relation to one of the following services: Licensing, Food and Safety, Private Sector Housing, Trading Standards, Noise and Nuisance, Air Quality and Pest Control.

Job Requirements:

• Previous experience working within a local authority or a similar organisation.
• At least 2 years’ experience within a Operational and Technical Support Assistant or equivalent.
• Evidence of continuing professional development.
• 3 GCSE’s (or equivalent or relevant experience) including Math and English. 
• NVQ in Customer Service. 
• Experience of providing technical administrative support to professional officers in local government or similar environment.
