Are you eager to land a brand new role? Our client, a local authority in London, are looking for an experienced Procurement Project Officer to join their team and play a crucial role in their procurement operations. 

Position: Procurement Project Officer
Rate: £42,840 per annum 
Contract Duration: Permanent 
Working Pattern: Hybrid - 3 days in the office

Key Responsibilities:

Department: Finance and Digital

To provide professional procurement resource to support and advise internal and external partners such that all procurement decisions deliver:

• Council objectives by demonstrating value for money.
• The effective use of resources.
• Efficiency savings through the implementation of category management.
• Expenditure that is managed strategically to achieve social and community benefits.

To lead, shape and steer the delivery of individual procurement projects. This will include but is not limited to leading tendering projects, pre- and post-implementation evaluation, supplier selection, contract award recommendation and category management for specified procurement areas.

Job Requirements:

• Previous experience working within a local authority or a similar organisation.
• At least 2 years’ experience within a Procurement Project Officer role or equivalent.
• Evidence of continuing professional development.
• MCIPS certification or working towards MCIPS certification or relevant experience working within a professional / commercial procurement environment.
• Responsibility in previous roles for the delivery of public sector (or similar) procurement projects, mainly through tendering, to deliver savings against demanding timescales.
