• PAY RATE: £38 - £45 per hour

JOB SUMMARY
The Team manager will be managing and develop a geographically based team providing social care services for looked after children (LAC) that enables them to achieve a strong identity, good health and achieve their maximum potential. Develop strength-based motivational practice so social workers and practitioners can build effective supportive relationships with children and young people and their families.

JOB DESCRIPTION
The duties and responsibilities of the role will include:  

• Work collaboratively with partners to deliver effective and safe LAC services which are on time, within budget, and in accordance with statutory guidelines, policy and standards to ensure that children and young people's needs are being met and vulnerable children and young people are protected from harm.
• Work closely with colleagues in fostering and adoption to achieve early permanence for children in permanent stable families wherever possible.
• Manage operational effectiveness of the team, allocating and prioritising workloads and taking responsibility for ensuring all cases are safely managed. In exceptional circumstances manage a case directly to ensure safe resolution.

THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE
The successful candidate will have the following skills and competencies:

• Professional social work qualification, CQSW or Diploma in Social Work (DipSW), or other relevant qualification recognised by the SWE.
• Registered or in process of registering with the SWE.
• Substantial experience in assessing the needs of, and undertaking direct work with children and young people, with a track record of improving children and young people's lives in a UK statutory setting.
