Your New Company
A complex, medium sized organisation, in an asset intensive, high profile industry. The treasury movements here are going to be an exciting challenge - plenty of funding, but liquidity management, debt management, oversight of payments, will keep you on your toes. The Company is an innovator in their space, employ 500-1000 staff (including contractors), and offer documented work life balance - 2 days per week from home in writing if desired. The Company is currently run off its feet with activity, new projects, expanding business, and internal improvements too.
Your New Role
Your senior treasury analyst position is well established, the incumbent is moving to another role internally, opening the door for you to come in and make it your own. Reports to the financial controller, in an autonomous yet senior level, analyst position.
Key Responsibilities:
- Daily cash flow management
- Indirect oversight of accounts payable and receivable functions, working closely with the financial controller's AP + AR teams.
- Managing external banking relationships, negotiating terms, ensuring reporting and compliances are met.
- Optimise cash position by managing liquidity closely
- Execute on Treasury Committee strategic outcomes and mitigate financial risks.
- Risk Management - commodity interest, interest rate risk, credit risk, foreign exchange through hedging strategies, derivatives and other techniques.
- Ensure appropriate financial controls are in place
- Update financial risk management plan
- Perform financial data analysis of reconciliation data, address any errors, anomalies, and improve data quality.
- Assist in preparation of annual and half yearly financial statements
- Support internal and external audit efforts as required
- Upskill other finance team members on all things treasury
- Ad hoc projects and analysis as assigned by CFO, Financial Controller, and/or other executives.
Your Profile
You'll need to demonstrate you can deliver on the above duties/responsibilities based on your existing experience in both accounting and treasury. A CA/CPA is preferred, along with direct experience in preparing or auditing statutory accounts, cash flow management, treasury experience in a reasonably sized company, risk management, and sound technical accounting standards understanding. You have the ability to take highly complex information and communicate clearly and concisely with a wide range of stakeholders from AP/AR, qualified accountants, executives, and external stakeholders alike. Your superior skills in technology will be well regarded across ERP, BI tools, and other systems in use.
