Seeking an MEP Superintendent to provide General Contractor representation on the construction of a data center campus - Temple, TX
Minimum Qualifications:
- A four-year degree from an accredited university with a concentration in construction, engineering, or business is strongly preferred.
- In lieu of a degree, additional relevant work experience will be considered in Supervision of Construction.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in mechanical or electrical system construction, with proven success in fast paced environments.
- At least 3 years of combined experience in mission critical construction, hospital construction, MEP project management, or mechanical/electrical system startup and commissioning.
- Strong working knowledge of MEP equipment and systems, including L1-L5 commissioning processes.
- Demonstrated experience developing commissioning schedules and managing LOTO, energization, and isolation procedures.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a focus on teamwork and collaboration.
- Proven ability to interface with demanding clients and maintain strong working relationships.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to build and lead high-performing teams.
- Skilled in coordinating and scheduling MEP activities across multiple trades.
- Proficient in leveraging computer and software technology to support project execution.
Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Assist in the bid review process for mechanical and electrical trades.
- Assist with the management of the equipment procurement process to ensure timely delivery and installation.
- Manage and maintain the MEP critical path schedule in alignment with overall project timelines.
- Coordinate and track critical path construction and startup activities across trades.
- Monitor and manage equipment deliveries to support construction sequencing.
- Review mechanical and electrical submittals for compliance and accuracy.
- Organize and lead project meetings focused on critical MEP activities and milestones.
- Review Methods of Procedure (MOPs) for executing critical work in live environments.
- Review the development and oversee the execution of commissioning schedules, including L1-L5 phases.
- Review the management by others of LOTO, energization, and isolation procedures to ensure safe and efficient system startup.
- Collaborate with subcontractors and design teams to resolve MEP-related conflicts.
- Oversee the quality control process for MEP systems during construction.
- Conduct inspections of MEP equipment to verify installation quality and readiness.
- Manage and assist with the startup and pretesting of mechanical and electrical systems done by Others.
- Coordinate and support third-party commissioning activities.
- Maintain and manage commissioning documentation throughout the project lifecycle.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships through proactive communication and issue resolution.
