We are seeking skilled Machine Operators and Hammerhands/Labourers to Join a reputable Civil construction company based in Christchurch.

Key Responsibilities : Operators

• Operating machinery such as excavators, rollers, and loaders
• Assisting with trenching, backfilling, and site prep
• Working closely with ground crews and supervisors
• Conducting pre-start checks and basic maintenance
• Ensuring safe and efficient machine operation

Key Responsibilities : Hammerhands/Labourer's 

• Perform general labouring tasks using hand and power tools, machinery, and construction equipment
• Prepare work sites: clear areas, dig trenches, backfill, compact, and level ground
• Install supports, boxing, and shutters for excavations
• Load, unload, and move tools, machinery, and materials as needed
• Maintain site cleanliness; remove debris, waste, and hazardous materials
• Accurately record required information using electronic devices
• Drive company vehicles in line with policies and legal requirements
• Carry out routine vehicle and equipment checks (e.g., lubrication, cleanliness, condition)
• Report and document any vehicle or equipment issues or safety

Skills & Experience

• Proven experience operating civil machinery and or Civil labouring/hammerhand work
• Relevant licences and endorsements (W,T,R) - For Operators 
• Strong understanding of site safety requirements
• Ability to work as part of a team
• Class 2 or Class 4 licence (advantageous)
